Ever wondered which beauty products are worth the hype? Which cosmetics you should save on and when to splurge? Well I have trialled and tested many high-end products and while some didn’t meet my expectations, many are worth every penny!
See below my current lists of fave’s and don’t forget to check out my previous post which includes some high-end goodies!
In no particular order….
1. Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Champagne Pop ($60)
An amazingly pigmented, golden shimmer sent to us from the gods! This highlighter looks amazing on just about any skin tone and has super bright pigments which can be built up or down. This highlighter even beat my long-term favourite Mary-Lou Manizer. The Becca highlighter boasts warm tones, with a liquid gold finish! Get the treat from Sephora, it’s worth every penny!
2. Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($51)
An awesome matte bronzer that adds a healthy glow or a sexy contour year-round. This bronzer is particularly great as it doesn’t have glitter or shine, meaning it’s the perfect tool for contouring or adding a healthy natural tan.
3. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots ($35)
These may sound expensive but they last FOREVER! These highly pigmented, long wearing eyeshadows go on creamy and dry to a vibrant finish! These little guys have been a beauty industry’s favourite because they also work as a primer. My favourites include ‘Soft Orche’, a perfect matte nude base and ‘Rubenesque’, a golden peach pearly sheen finish.
5. Naked Palette by Urban Decay ($83)
If you’re after a collection of buttery, smooth and high pigment eye shadows, look no further! The bronze hues found in the Naked palette let us create endless seductive eye looks. With 12 shades to choose from in a single palette the Naked palette has revolutionized the neutrals! Another bonus: this palette lasts forever due it’s incredible colour pay off.
6. MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencils ($42)
Cover your lips in this rich, creamy pencil and get kissable lips for as long as eight hours! On application, the lip liner glides on easily and can be corrected with a cotton bud or a lip brush. With 28 colours to choose from, all with incredible colour pay off, the pencil can be worn alone, topped with a gloss or with a lipstick. The traditional pencil style means that the liner is less prone to breakage, however you may need a special sharperner. The Mac lip pencils are plastic so many traditional wood pencil sharpeners don’t work. Try NARS or MAC pencil sharpeners for best results.
7. Sigma F80 & F82 face brushes ($39-46)
These foundation brushes completely re-defined my makeup application! The Sigma F80 (flat top) and F82 (round top) blend foundation like a dream, giving you an air brushed look. Using circular motions, lightly blend the foundation around your face and tap onto troubled areas. These brushes are great for saving your product as they don’t suck it up like many sponges do. The Sigma brushes disperse and blend product evenly and give you great control. Totally worth it!
