On Sunday 4 June, models of all shapes, sizes, ethnicity and ages walked down the runway at the National Convention Centre for the annual FASHFEST casting.
Hundreds of aspiring models strut their stuff to vie for a spot in Canberra’s most glamorous annual event, running for it’s fifth year in 2017.
Upon walking into the huge auditorium, I noticed a pool of different looks and styles but one thing remained consistent: smiles and genuine excitement. The models were split up into small groups where they were coached and prepped for their turn to march down the catwalk. In about a 4:1 female to male ratio, sky-high stilettos, blue jeans and t-shirts dominated the crowd. The ‘supermodel off duty’ style was the go-to look for many aspiring models who beamed confidence and excitement. The whole day seemed like a massive confidence booster for those involved and I’m excited to see who is chosen to represent the designers who are yet to be announced. So much anticipation!
FASHFEST will run September 28-30 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. Good luck to all the gorgeous models I saw on Sunday!!
