My top beauty hacks

Love a good beauty hack ? Check out my favourite tips and tricks below!

  1. Quickly get rid of under-eye bags

If you are in a hurry and don’t want to go out with droopy eyes then teabags are the way to go. Moisten two tea bags in cold water and throw them in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. Then place them over your eyes and lie back and relax for about half an hour. Finish by washing your eyes and face with cold water, dry your skin and apply cream. You will feel relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated!

Make your tea and re-use the tea bag!

    2. Perfect your makeup prep

Want flawless skin? Rub an ice cube all over your face before you start applying makeup. The coldness from the ice helps to close pores, reduce swelling and redness and encourages your skin to glow! Ensuring your base is smooth also helps your makeup last longer.

3. The perfect cat eye

Want to achieve the perfect cat-eye flick? Apply some tape just below where you want your line to sit. Follow the tape along for the perfect flick, wait until the liquid eyeliner has dried and carefully remove the tape. You can also use this trick to create the perfect smokey eye by using the tape as a guard for your eye shadow application.

4. Prevent eye shadow fall out

Going for a smouldering smokey-eye? Hate the horrible fall out that ruins the look of your perfect base? Use panty liners to catch the fall out! Cut a liner in half and stick the straight side just below the eye. The subtle ‘glue’ on the liner is gentle enough on your skin and sticky enough to stay on and catch the fall out.

5. De-clump your mascara

Mascara getting close to the use by date? Run the tube under hot water before use to soften the mascara paste. Make sure the mascara lid is tightly sealed before you place it under the tap to prevent water getting in.

This trick works a charm on my Modere mascara!

6. Get the perfect brows

  1. Prior to grooming, hairspray your eyebrow brush. This will ensure the hair stays in place all day long. Another great tip for filling in your brows is following this sequence: line the bottom of your brow for shape, line the top of your brow for the arch, blend down then blend up.

    7. Remove SNS nails at home

Sick of going to the salon? Remove your SNS nails at home in just 15 minutes. All you need is: two glass bowls (a smaller bowl that fits into a larger bowl), hot but not boiling water, pure acetone and paper towel. Fill 1/3 of the larger bowl with the hot water. In the smaller bowl, place the paper towel and enough acetone to cover finger nails once the hands are in. Place the smaller bowl into the larger bowl to allow the hot water to heat up the acetone. Soak your fingers in the acetone dish for about 15 minutes, using the paper towel to gently rub against your nails.
