Style guide: Isolation but make it fashion

style guide: isolation but make it fashion

What have you been doing to keep yourself sane during isolation? Cooking, home improvements, photography and blogging have certainly been my go-to activities. My goal is to keep things as normal as possible, this means getting out of my robe and looking ready to tackle the day. Not to mention it’s also a perfect time to spring clean (or autumn clean) your wardrobe. You never know all the forgotten gems you might find that can be a perfect addition to your ISO outfit.

So, what are my isolation outfits? And why should we get dressed up if we’re just pottering about at home? Well, as the famous saying goes “If you look good, you feel good”. Personally, I don’t think there’s a better time to get dressed up just because. Keep the mood light-hearted, your spirit high and do something different. Whether you’re stuck at home with a friend, a parter or just yourself there’s plenty to do! Have picnic in the yard, a dance party in the living room or create your own 5-star restaurant in the kitchen.  Pick up a new hobby like painting, song writing or learn to cook your favourite dish.

Do all these things plus more, while looking divine – cause’ why the hell not? Here are my top 3 completely out-there stay at home outfits which I put together together with Femme Luxe Finery

SAFARI PANTS TO EXPLORE THE YARD

Cargo pants are back baby! Once relegated to daggy dad style (still relevant for my dad), cargo pants are having a serious moment.  Even designers like Isabel Marant, Prabal Gurung and Ralph Lauren are getting in on the multi-pocketed pant trend as observed in their latest runway shows. Better yet – celebrities like Bella Hadid, Rhianna and Hailey Beiber have been seen sporting the look. Femme Luxe provides a huge range of cargo trousers and I’m wearing their Stone Cargo Slim Fit Trousers. In addition, I paired my cargos with a sexy Slinky Plunge Crop Top to balance out the baggy look. On top, I threw on an old cream blazer (this is where the spring cleaning comes in handy!) from Sheike, a clutch from TK Maxx and Nude Boots from Wittner.

AFTER WORK DRINKS IN THE KITCHEN

Nothing beats ‘jeans and a cute top’ for a casual afternoon cocktail hour. Dress it up or down with the right footwear, accessories and unique aspects. One of my favourite pieces from my Femme Luxe haul is the YeSaintWest slogan top. While this top is no longer available for sale, there is a huge range of similar slogan t-shirts. I styled this one by tying it up at the front, threw on my favourite Bardot skinny jeans, a pair of faux leather boots from Kmart and a leather jacket from Cotton On. Look cute yet casual while your ISO buddy makes you an Espresso Martini.

DATE NIGHT ON THE COUCH

Finally! It’s Saturday night and we are ready to let our hair down. Glam to your heart’s content and throw on your sexiest number (you know the one – the dress you never wear because it’s kind of slutty). It’s now or never. The Pink Leopard Print Bardot Ruched Frill Hem Dress seemed like the perfect date night choice. It’s such a cute mini dress that accentuates your best features. With a ruched front design, matching sleeves and a bardot neckline for that extra oompth. Or, ditch the sleeves all together, show more skin and chuck on a pair of nude heels like my Lash Heels by Wildfire. Femme Luxe has a huge collection of amazing dresses so check it out to be inspired for your next date night!

FEMME LUXE: WHO ARE THEY?

For this stay at home outfits post, I’m working with Femme Luxe who describe themselves as ‘current, classy and forward thinking’. They bring outfits to attract attention, a gorgeous combo for a special occasion or something to simply chill at home in comfort. New, affordable styles are uploaded weekly so you know you’re always on trend. The website has a huge range and while it’s based in the UK, the shipping took a little over a week.

If you’ve been doing a bit of online shopping while stuck at home, definitely check them out and show me your looks! Plus keen an eye out for my Femme Luxe styling IGTV on my Instagram
